Mike O'Brien - Class of 1966

Michael K. O’Brien came to Walsh in its early years after a high school counselor told him he should skip college and get a job in the mill. Working to put himself through school, Mike graduated from Walsh in 1966 with a bachelor of arts degree. Today, Mike is owner and president of Michael K. O’Brien Financial, a full-service insurance firm specializing in policies for life, health, and accident. From 1968 to 1971, Mike was Walsh’s golf coach and is a member of the Walsh University Wall of Fame for his achievements with the sport. He has been active over the years at his alma mater with service that has included organizing the annual Gary Farey Raffle. He was honored by Walsh for his achievements as the 2009 Outstanding Alumnus.
